For three generations, the Caraways' have been active in the pig industry. Starting in the 1940s, when Bo was six years old, his father, Jake, began raising commercial hogs. Bo continued the tradition into the 1980s, owning and operating a 200 sow commercial hog operation. Partnering with his youngest son, Shane, in the late 1990s, the Caraways' turned their focus to raising quality show pigs. There have continually been differing amounts and breeds of swine on the Caraway farm for the past 60 years, but it wasn't until 1999 that Bo and Shane narrowed their focus to raising Spots, Berks, and Polands.

Growing up on a farm, Bo always knew that he wanted to pursue a career in the agriculture field. In 1964, Bo married his wife of 40 years, Pat, and shortly after graduated from Tarleton State University with a degree in agricultural education. For over 25 years, Bo taught Ag in Gorman, Texas, where his wife is still an elementary teacher. Throughout his teaching career, Bo continued the family tradition of farming and animal production. Since retiring from teaching, Bo has devoted his time to farming vegetables and producing quality show pigs.

Bo and Pat are blessed with three children. Shannon and wife Tanya and children: Morgan and Jake; daughter Tonya and husband Decker Cammack; and youngest son Shane and wife Liz. All three children worked on the farm and showed in local and major livestock shows growing up. Although farm life was a huge part of each of their childhoods, Shane is the only child to continue the Caraway tradition of farming. Shane also graduated from Tarleton State University, with an agricultural business degree and works in Waco as an auto claim representative. Shane and his wife live in Valley Mills, but drive to the family farm near Eastland each weekend to help with the farming operations. Bo and Shane have a very close relationship and are proud to have formed a unique father-son partnership sharing in all the responsibilities and management of their show pig operation.

Bo and Shane are very proud of the success of their pigs in the show ring and continue to work hard to increase the quality of their show pigs. They truly believe that the success of their pigs is a direct result of having the opportunity to work with some of the best feeders in the State of Texas. Bo and Shane feel grateful for the great friendships they have been able to form with their customers over the years and look forward to meeting new ones. The motto that Bo and Shane based their operation on in the beginning still holds true today. Their goal is to produce quality show pigs that are competitive in the show ring at a price that you can afford and they can stay in busine
